"trees will save us"
Long time back when I was a kid I knew a very old woman, we called her muthashi. Once I saw her praying to the tree, I asked her why she does that. She said “you know kid in the end it is tree that is going to save us all”. At that time I laughed but it is getting clear to me that tree has lots to teach us. Tree, to be specific leaves, has the capacity to convert most of the solar energy (as much as 99%, I read somewhere), that is amazing. Human beings have not been able to emulate even a fraction. Further trees covert Carbon dioxide to oxygen, if only human beings knew how to do that most of problems would be solved. When a tree is cut it is an assault on earth. Tree is a life giver, it is affirmation to living. It is the foundation of ecosystem. When a tree dies world dies a bit. This cannot be said about humans despite their claim to grandeur particularly the West.
It is no coincidence trees are considered sacred in this part of the world. Maybe instead of cutting the trees (if that is last option, the way things are happening it doesn’t seem so) they could transplant it into location nearby. One day human beings will have to pay terrible price for their arrogance.

The river will take all the sins!!
